However; I had mine covered over on my SPL wide front fenders. A few very thin layers of fiberglass to fill in the vents. The vents in the fenders take away from the look that I am going for..
TO ME, The "gains" from the vents weren't worth it. I purchased them mainly to run a wider front tire and match the look of my widened rear fenders. I also liked that I was able to run a little more negative offset of the front tire and give them a little deeper lip. Just keep in mind that you can't go crazy with the negative offset and width because you will rub the inner fender liners (mine rubbed a teeny bit at full lock, didn't come even close to rubbing any suspension parts which was my main concern). I am running a 19x9.5" (+24 offset) 275/30/19 Pirelli P-zero Rosso. I think I could have even went with a (+18 offset) and still be okay with modifying my fender liners a bit, but it would have only been about another 1/4" (6mm) deeper lip but didn't want to take a chance when ordering custom wheels. I am making something to keep that from happening. Just heating the liner up in the area that rubs and modifying with a brace. If I would have gotten the (+18 offset), It would have matched my 20mm wider front fenders a little more flush. The fenders are also very light. I believe it was about 3lbs. This was before filling in the vents.. but I would imagine it is not much more. Good luck on the build!
NO, This picture is not photoshopped. It took many times to take this picture. Setting up the timer, shutter speed etc, then jumping on my bike and getting the tire to spin.
